New Grade For Hard Part Turning

Sandvik Coromant is broadening its variety of hard part turning inserts with CB7025, a strong grade optimized for interrupted cuts in case hardened steel. The grade's fine grain CBN controls wear and mechanically interlocks insert corners to provide strength and security superior to standard insert edge designs, according to the company. These properties enable higher machining speeds, as well as the ability to finish components in one pass while retaining surface quality.

The grade is available in a range of positive inserts and comes in two radius wiper geometries. Its WH geometry provides high surface quality with reduced cutting forces, while its WG geometry offers the best preparation for finishing cuts while running at high feed rates.
