PMTS is an excellent opportunity to connect with customers and potential customers and demonstrate the latest updates to the OASIS line of inspection systems. And this edition of the show is no exception.
New for attendees to check out is a breakthrough in measuring pipe threads. The inspection system is now capable of optically measuring external NPT pipe threads, believed to be an industry first.
The additional capability of quickly and accurately measuring pipe threads comes on the heels of the recently added thread tool, which measures straight “V” thread forms. The inspection system is now capable of measuring up to a 1-1/4" NPT (1.660" OD), and the entire inspection takes less than a second.
Gone are the days of the old fashioned ring gage. Ring gages are simple GO/NO-GO. The OASIS actually measures the pipe threads and gives you real numbers. Now, you’ll know when your process is close to tolerances, and you’ll be able to adjust before making rejects. This new technology not only saves time and money, but it enables process control on pipe thread production, something that should be a boon for the industry.
