Marposs' pre-process and in-process gages are available that are integrated using a single P7 multifunction amplifier. The unit is available in several configurations including a modular design that can be embedded inside the machine's control.

Typically in match grinding, the OD of one component is ground to precisely match the ID of a mating component--a process that eliminates the requirement for classifying and sorting finished parts for assembly. This is accomplished by sending measurement data from a pre-process gauge used to measure the ID of one part to an in-process gauge on the grinder that controls the finished size of the mating part's OD. The P7 electronic unit in this application provides the ability to accomplish the required measurements and calculations rapidly and manage the data for efficient process control.
