Programming Swiss-Type Lathes

Tornos and PartMaker Software/IMCS Inc. have integrated their respective software products, TB-Deco and PartMaker SwissCAM, to offer the end-user another choice for programming the entire line of Deco Swiss-type lathes. Integrating these two technologies allows Deco users to create and validate CNC programs more easily, thus speeding programming and reducing setup time.

This joint project represents the first-time Tornos users will be able to directly interface their TB-Deco software to an external CAD/CAM system. PartMaker SwissCAM and TB-Deco have been linked via a Tornos standard file exported by PartMaker SwissCAM and imported by TB-Deco. This file, built automatically by PartMaker during post processing, contains all the information needed to program a part by TB-Deco. The integrated products are beneficial to Tornos users because they allow users to integrate TB-Deco with external CAD data, perform 3D machining simulation and program all their Deco machines in the same intuitive manner as their other machines, whether they are Swiss-type or conventional CNC mills and lathes.
