With its 790 × 815 × 250 mm XYZ measurement volume and available 300- or 400-mm extended Z axis, the Quest 800 measures large parts or large arrays of smaller fixtured parts. For measurement stability, the system optics/sensor head is mounted on a stable granite bridge over the worktable and moves only in the X and Z axes, while the worktable itself moves underneath in the Y axis. The 10:1 TeleStar telecentric zoom lens provides high-level optical performance and accurate video metrology. Quest 800 is fully multisensor-capable with available touch trigger probe, SP25 continuous contact scanning probe with PH10 motorized probe head, on-axis TeleStar Plus interferometric TTL laser or off-axis DRS laser, and micro-probes to measure fragile parts or small part features.

SmartScope Quest 800 is available with the company’s Zone3 premium CAD-based 3D metrology software. The software features a simple user interface, and its kinematic model simulates the machine, part, fixtures and measuring sensor, updated in real time. Built-in productivity maximizing tools, integrated GD&T functionality and visual validation of measurement intent offer speed and power to the measurement process. Zone3 supports simultaneous use of multiple sensors, including multiple lasers, making appropriate tools available for complex measurement tasks.
