All WPI plunging tools are individually manufactured to customer print. The WPI system consists of a round shank holder with a coolant-through feature and a ground carbide form insert. Toolholders are made from steel and are available in heavy metal as well for better rigidity and optimum vibration damping, the company says.

The advantages are significant reduction of unit costs, which can result in an increase of as much as 80 percent in productivity because of the insertable form tool.
