These systems are mounted on screw machines or similar turning machines to replace tooling used for cutting off, grooving or forming. The benefits are more pieces per bar and per hour, reduced or no secondary operations, better quality parts (little or no nib, less burr, more square and flat), and increased capabilities (ability to cut thin-walled tubing, irregular shapes and exotic materials). The company will demonstrate rotary saw cutting on a two-axis, CNC cut-off machine outfitted with the system. The company also manufactures drilling and straddle-milling attachments and high speed steel and solid carbide cut-off and slotting saws. The company also has introduced an improved SAW-lution system for Brown&Sharpe screw machines. The improved attachment uses a space-saving right angle drive that mounts close to the machine base. This improvement has two benefits: Shops with multiple Brown&Sharpes can position machines closer together to save floor space, and it is easier to maneuver around and between machines because the drive motor is no longer protruding from the base of the machine. The right angle drive and mounting bracket are available with either a rotary saw cutting system or a drilling attachment. The drive has a hardened and ground housing, spiral bevel gears and angular contact bearings. The space saving right angle drive is available with new attachments or as a retrofit for older attachments.
