The 3D CMM from Carl Zeiss features a VAST XXT sensor for all types of gages. It can be used in any size workshop or inline process control. The CMM is suited for process control on the production floor, for the quick in-between inspection of small workpieces and for testing volume parts directly in production. The machine replaces traditional measuring equipment such as height gages, ring gages, snap gages, plug gages, form measuring machines, workshop measuring equipment and manual measuring machines.

The machine is a tabletop CMM with an optional base that can be loaded from four sides. The company says it is easy to use and quick to learn how to operate. While measuring, the passive vibration damping offers protection against mechanical vibrations from production. Glass ceramic length measuring systems for the three axes and axes protected with bellows, precise linear guideways and drives ensure precise measuring, even under poor environmental conditions.

The CMM can be quickly moved to a different location within the facility--only a forklift is needed. Once connected to a power source, it is immediately ready for use--pressurized air is not required.

Flexible Gage Software Integrates with CNC Machine Tools

EMO 2017: Renishaw will exhibit its software for the Equator flexible gauge, which allows users to fully integrate the system with CNC machine tools, its contact scanning system for CNC machine tools, its on-machine and mobile apps which are designed to simplify the use of machine tool probing, an enhanced non-contact tool setter for machining centers, a multi-probe optical interface system, a surface finish probe for coordinate measuring machines, and software that enhances the functionality of Renishaw’s XM-60 multi-axis calibration system.
