The HS-01 machine, with a fixed turret and a traveling spindle, loads directly to the spindle, offering a short loading time.

The lathe is a 6" chuck machine with an A2-5 nose. It has a 10-hp spindle with a maximum spindle speed of 6,000 rpm, a 12-station servo turret with an index time of 0.5 seconds to the opposite tool, as well as a Fanuc 0iTB control with X and Z rapid traverses of 1,200 ipm.

The following are features of the lathe: quick NC loading by the main spindle provides 2.5 to 4 second loading cycle; changeable loader hands and part stockers to fit individual setups; a stationary tool turret that allows for chip management and coolant flow; simple NC control for the loader (main spindle) allows easy setup changes; compact floor space; and stability to hold accuracy.

The lathe also has easy chip disposal by stationary turret and stable cutting by spindle traverse. The lathe has minimized heat influence by separate chip tank, fine dimensional accuracy and fine surface finish, throughout the long running operation.
