The toolholders incorporate Shrinker technology and are designed for carbide tools and high speed die and mold applications. The extensions not only extend tools for difficult to reach areas, but also expand the range of larger holders and existing machining centers to use smaller tools.

Easier change-over and faster setup increases spindle uptime and throughput, along with faster cycle times and reduced scrap rates, the company says. Thermolock has no moving parts, set screws, collets or nosepieces, yet provides 360-degree concentric clamping force. The enclosed design makes these components virtually maintenance-free, resistant to dirt, chips and coolant. All Thermolock toolholders are ready for through-spindle coolant delivery, with through-flange or surround coolant optional.
