The SecoPoint single insert dispenser (SID) stores as many as 20 inserts, dispensing one at a time. It is designed specifically to work in conjunction with the company's SmartDrawer cabinet, which can accommodate 64 SIDs per drawer, providing a capacity of as many as 1,280 inserts per drawer. The SID supports the most popular tool sizes and is useful for most carbide inserts used in milling, turning, threading and grooving applications. It is also highly effective in tracking high-value CBN insert usage.
As part of the company's Point of Use program, each time an insert is dispensed by the SID, the SmartDrawer unit reports usage back to the SupplyPort central data center Web portal, where transactions are processed to provide a 100-percent audit trail. Each transaction includes the date and time dispensed, employee number, product, quantity dispensed and customer defined information such as work cell, job number or serial number.
