Single-Spindle Blast System

The compact single-spindle blast system Model RSSA-6 can be quickly adjusted to process a moderate volume of many different components. The automatic blast machine's rotary spindle may be fitted with a turntable up to 24" in diameter or with a quick-change fixture designed to hold each type of component. As the workpiece rotates at a controlled and adjustable speed, it is exposed to the blast of media from multiple nozzles for the set duration of the blasting cycle.

The automatic blast machine's rotary spindle may be fitted with a turntable up to 24" in diameter or with a quick-change fixture designed to hold each type of component. As the workpiece rotates at a controlled and adjustable speed, it is exposed to the blast of media from multiple nozzles for the set duration of the blasting cycle. A timed air wash blow-off cycle follows the impact treatment process.

Up to four suction-blast guns or two pressure-blast nozzles are mounted on telescoping multi-adjustable brackets in the blast chamber of the RSSA-6. The distance of each nozzle from the component and the angles of media impingement on component surfaces, thus, can be altered to accommodate different shapes and sizes of parts. While thorough coverage of many components can be ensured with an array of guns in fixed position, nozzle motion can get the work done with fewer guns and with a lower compressed air requirement.
