Sodick’s eco-friendly AG100L sinker EDM features a simplified control mechanism that provides a direct link between the drive and the control. According to the company, this ensures the fastest possible servo response time and optimized spark gaps at all times. The automatic, three-sided, vertically sliding drop tank eases loading and unloading of large workpieces.
The sinker EDM is equipped with linear motor drives on the X, Y and Z axes and a glass scale feedback. A zero electrode wear circuit and a fine finishing circuit are standard. X-, Y- and Z-axis travel measures 47.24" × 25.59" × 19.69", respectively. The machine can accommodate workpieces weighing as much as 11,000 lbs.
