Mitsubishi Materials’ Smart Miracle solid carbide end mill series feature irregular helical flutes that aid in vibration control. The coating is an (Al, Cr) N coating that provides high wear resistance. This coating has been applied with our Zero-µ surface smoothening treatment, which delivers reduced cutting resistance and improved chip evacuation. The Zero-µ surface also aids in retention of sharpness on the cutting edge while providing long tool life and creating an exceptional surface finish, the company says. Rounded flute features are designed to provide added strength, excellent chip evacuation and accelerated feed rates. The Smart Miracle product line offers applicable materials such as low carbon and pre-hardened steels, stainless steels, titanium alloys and other heat resistant alloys. The current product line offers a four-flute, straight or radius shape and a three-flute plunge and slot style.
