GibbsCAM 2004 contains a new Windows user interface that adds a conventional Windows look and feel and interface capabilities to the software’s front end. Multiple sessions can be run at the same time, and information can be transferred between them using cut, copy and paste capabilities.

The software also introduces the 2.5D Solids module, which is said to address the machining needs of manufacturing companies dealing with the growing amount of 2.5D solid models created by mainstream CAD systems. It also provides support for the latest versions of CAD systems.

Automatic feature recognition of compound holes has been integrated with Hole Wizard, which is said to enhance the speed of hole programming. The Profiler is said to enable interactive feature selection and can be used to define profiles or select the surfaces that make up features.
