The line of solid carbide Sphinx micro drills include a range from 1mm (0.039") to 2 mm (0.078") anda tolerance range of ±0.004 mm. They feature a reinforced shank and are now offered for diameters from 0.05 mm (0.002") to 2 mm (0.078") in a standard length of 25 mm (0.984"). From 1 mm to 2 mm, the new line now offers very precise diameter steps in increments of 0.01 mm. The micro drills have higher rigidity than high speed steel, longer tool life, and they are preferred for drilling certain harder materials. In many applications, it is possible to use the carbide micro drills as reamers. These drills are only for diameters from 0.05 mm to 0.1 mm, and they can be used for most applications.
