Ibag North America's Micro Line spindles for Swiss turning adds 20 mm and 22 mm to the 25-mm diameter model previously available. Right-hand spindles are also available. These spindles are designed to eliminate secondary operations for Swiss-type lathes. They use synchronous, DC motor technology and operate as high as 100,000 rpm with 260 watts continuous power and high torque. The spindles are especially useful for machining applications involving micro-milling and drilling tools, as well as engraving and fine milling. They feature high rigidity and ultra precision to enhance surface quality and machining accuracy, the company says. Models are available in standard length, which is shorter length than other models to better suit compact tooling areas.

For turning center users, the company offers a ready to install kit that includes the spindle and drive, all electrical and pneumatic lines and optional spindle mounting blocks.
