The company offers Frenco’s INO System spline gages, which are said to provide a quick method for inspection of involute splines, serration splines and straight-sided splines to ensure interchangeability of parts, even between different manufacturers. The INO System is an internal standard for external dimensional measurement of spline gages that is suited for highly sensitive and complex components and systems, the company says.
 
The gages are constructed of wear-resistant, high-alloy powder steel called HX. The hardness of the material as well as chromium and vanadium alloy content determines the gage’s wear resistance, which in turn determines the appropriate time intervals between wear inspections. For example, highly wear-resistant materials enable inspection intervals to be significantly extended. Special steels with higher alloy content and hardness are also available for added durability, reduced test equipment monitoring costs, and reduced manufacturing or wear tolerances.
 
The gages offer traceability to PTB-certified parts to ensure reliable measuring results. All are permanently labeled with profile data, user identification numbers, manufacturer’s drawing and drawing number, material, serial number and date of manufacture. Spline gages are reusable, and worn gages can be rebuilt.
