The Stock Feeder Hush Tube product line provides a solution for minimizing bar whip and chatter related problems including noise, maintaining: proper part tolerances, excessive cutting, tool wear and stock marring. This product can be sized to fit virtually any new or rebuilt screw machine stock reels and is equally efficient for any size hex, square, round or irregular shaped stock. The complete assembly consists of steel outer tubing that is lined with 12" long urethane inserts.

The complete assembly consists of steel outer tubing that is lined with 12" long urethane inserts. The hush tubes are custom sized to any length up to 24 feet. On the feed end of the Stock Feeder Hush Tube, there is a funneled end cap composed of urethane. To minimize friction generation and resulting heat during operation, the interior urethane liners move freely inside the steel outer tubing. This product has been designed to reduce in plant noise pollution by absorbing and dampening sound level normally transmitted throughout the stock feeder tube. Testing has demonstrated that use of the Stock Feeder Hush Tubes lowers noise levels on screw machines to 80-85 decibels. A properly sized Stock Feeder Hush Tube also allows for maintaining proper machined part tolerances due to minimized bar whip and chatter. Holding precise part tolerances enables the operator to produce high quality parts more consistently, with lower scrap rates, less machine down time and decreased wear on cutting tools. The urethane liner inserts are replaceable and can be sized to virtually any inside and outside diameters. This product feature allows for quickly and effectively changing the capacity of a machine for specific or multiple job runs of a wide variety of stock sizes. Smaller stock sizes may be run in larger capacity machines without increasing dB levels or other bar whip problems. Hush Tubes can be sized to properly fit virtually any single or multi-spindle automatic screw machine.
