The L20E Type IX Swiss-type lathe is the enhanced model (“E” stands for evolution) with better feature/cost benefits and improved tooling flexibility. The lathe offers a variety of redesigned tooling as well as a rich array of NC functions. The machine’s control system enables smooth motion at high speeds and the increased rapid feed rate of 32 m/min improves productivity. The live tool unit has three modular stations, which allow more flexible set up on the gang tool post. The front ID toolholder has expanded capabilities including two deep hole locations (to as many as 100 mm). The back tool post is equipped with three rotary tools as standard and is capable of back slitting with the optional slitting spindle. As many as 32 tools can be mounted for easy machining of complex shapes with the convenience of a gang tool machine.
