Swiss-Turn Small-Part Machines

Tsugami BE series Swiss-turns (12-mm and 18-mm models) are small-part machines capable of simultaneous operation of the main and subspindle. Featuring 12. 000 and 10,000 rpm main spindles respectively, both machines have the company's gang slide design for the shortest possible chip-to-chip time.

Tsugami BE series Swiss-turns (12-mm and 18-mm models) are small-part machines capable of simultaneous operation of the main and subspindle. Featuring 12.000 and 10,000 rpm main spindles respectively, both machines have the company's gang slide design for the shortest possible chip-to-chip time. The machines come standard with a Fanuc 32i-A two-path control, AC drives, five controlled axes and 6 3/8" of stroke.

The sliding headstock and axes move on preloaded automatically lubricated linear roller ways to minimize stick slip and improve response. Both main and subspindles are liquid cooled to ensure thermal stability.

The main and subspindle motors are of a balanced hollow core design for less vibration, fewer moving parts, true synchronization and quicker response in speed change. This design allows for close tolerance parts to be machined without drivetrain-induced inaccuracies, the company says.
