Iscar's metalworking concept for increased productivity, called 3P Sumo line, presents premium productivity products (3P) for better productivity, better profitability and better performance. The highlight of the 3P product introduction is Sumo Tec, which features a series of premium tungsten carbide grades. Complementing Sumo Tech, Iscar has developed a series of tools and inserts as well.
Among the new series includes Sumomill, a milling line with tangentially clamped inserts; DR-Twist and Sumodrill, which is the indexable drilling line; and Sumoturn tools and inserts for heavy-duty turning operations. The company has also expanded other lines, such as the double-sided helical positive geometry inserts under the brand name Helido; the Helitang 490 line of inserts; the Heliturn LD family has been expanded by adding WNMX, DNMX and CNMX type inserts with positive radial helical cutting edges and positive rake angles.
The company also has an exchangeable gundrill head called Chamgun, with its ability to perform as much as 30 × D length-to-diameter ratio. The gundrill enables the replacement of a drilling head on the machine, eliminated the process of removing the drill for indexing. The G-profile head is durable and can be re-ground, to multiply tool life.
