New Vista Corporation has developed thread chasing units for cleaning out existing internal or external threads in production parts. The all-electric unit, which includes a servomotor, servodrive and motion programming, can clear weld spatter, chips, paint or burrs. Forward torque is adjustable to as much as 10 foot pounds. Reverse torque is 20 foot pounds to ensure the tool won't stick in the threads. The unit is designed to never cut a new thread. Three sizes will chase threads from 3 mm to 50 mm.
