With sizes ranging from millimeters to tens of microns, 3D freeform geometry can be easily achieved. The working volumes for the X, Y and Z axes are 2 ½" each with a maximum acceleration of 5G on each stage. The mill features a kinematic workpiece and spindle-mounting system, allowing for easy spindle and/or workpiece reconfiguration, granite support structures, open-architecture CNC and both AC linear motors and Heidenhain linear optical encoders on the X, Y and Z stages. The combination of the small footprint, simple infrastructure requirements and ease of use make the mill versatile for small part applications.
