With its twin-spindle, twin-gantry automation, Murata Machinery USA’s MW50GT turning machine increases productivity and accuracy while reducing cycle time in a compact footprint.
The turning machine’s twin-spindle, twin-gantry construction is engineered to provide exceptional rigidity, high precision processing and high productivity. With its compact, energy saving design, the MW50GT is especially useful for compact line operation, flexibility and versatility in manufacturing, and easy setup change, the company says.
The MW50GT is an automated CNC turning center targeting parts that are 50 mm (2") × 50 mm (2") and features twin horizontal spindles and twin four-station tool blocks. Its twin three-axis CNC gantry loader offers more versatility in automation, high productivity with minimum production time and drastically reduces cycle time, according to Murata. This three-axis CNC gantry loader allows for quicker loading and unloading at stocker systems, conveyors, post-process gages and post-process systems. Compared with single-spindle machines, the MW50GT’s compact design also saves space in production setup for more efficient line planning.
