Article From: 9/15/2002 Production MachiningSonotube Ultrasonic transducers are offered on the LeanCIean 360 cellular basket qqueous parts cleaning system. These 1,000 watt minimal output piezoelectric resonating transducers from Branson Ultrasonics Corporation are available at either 25 or 40 KHz frequency, depending upon cleaning energy requirements. The tube resonator is an omni-directional ultrasonic device that is designed to uniformly disperse ultrasonic cavitation into the parts as the basket rotates or articulates. All parts are uniformly engaged by the ultrasonic cleaning energy. The round Sonotube design also ensures that no soils, chips, debris or solution remain on the transducer surface when the process tank is drained. The LeanClean 360 provides efficient parts cleaning with a compact footprint (3' × 5') for minimal space requirements and lean manufacturing flexibility. The system is designed for automated, variable speed wash/rinse and dry cycles and processes up to 10 standard or 20 small baskets per hour. Submerged spray and flushing rinse action dislodge soil and chips. The integral 1,500 CFM recirculating hot air convection dryer speeds drying times for increased production and reduced energy consumption.
