Useful for precision honing bores in sizes ranging from 0.750" to 8" (19 mm to 203 mm), Sunnen’s SV-10 is equipped with an auto dwell and rough and finish cycle. The auto dwell feature allows for unattended operation. The machine automatically dwells in the tightest part of the bore. The rough and finish cycle is designed to remove stock quickly and switches to finish for the correct crosshatch angle.

With two motors—one for the spindle and one for the stroker—the vertical honing machine has the capability to run traditional tools as well as the company’s new DH-series diamond hone head. Another new feature is the full-bore profile display that projects a real-time graphical display of the bore cross section. Users can view the geometry of the bore with this feature.
