Company Profile

HISTORY: Our company’s first product line was hand operated turret lathes. These were eventually modified and the company gained international recognition for its bicycle hub and piston finishing lathes. Bardons & Oliver continued to grow and evolve with the industry, developing the first large capacity cut-off lathes for the pipe and tube industry. Contract work including special machinery of many kinds became a significant part of the company’s business in the 1950’s and continues to be an important market for Bardons & Oliver today. In the late 1960's Bardons & Oliver introduced automatic turret lathes that featured complete fluidic control of a standard machine tool for the first time in history. Special large capacity CNC turning machines were developed in the 1980's. • CNC Center-Drive Lathe

The four-axis CNC center-drive lathe from Bardons & Oliver is especially useful for maximizing machining efficiency, the company says. One 12-station turret machines the front end of the workpiece, while a second 12-station turret simultaneously machines the back end.

  • Big Bore Subspindle Turning System

Bardons & Oliver’s big bore subspindle machine is designed to handle the most challenging through-hole applications. This heavy-duty, column-style machine provides users with the ability to process complex bar and tube components with no limitations on diameter, weight or length. When the subspindle machine is combined with the company’s automatic bar feed system and its finished part unloader, this system can produce finished parts with complex machining on both ends in one fully automatic operation.

  • Automated Robotic Unloading Process

The company offers an automated robot for increasing the efficiency of the unloading process on CNC machines. After the part is cut off and discharged, a lifting mechanism singulates and positions the part so it can be unloaded by the robot arm. The robot then utilizes a strong magnet to lift parts.

  • Rotating Head Cutoff Machine

This rotating head cutoff machine is designed to keep tube and bar stock stationary while the cutting tool rotates around the material being cut. This allows no marking of the OD and the ability to cut non-straight or "as welded" material. Both ends of the bar or tube can be chamfered and no additional facing operations are necessary.

  • Bar Processor Boosts Blank-Making Capabilities

This toll processor of steel bar is hustling to meet the growing demand for 'first operation' blanks.
