Turn-Mill Classics
Here are trailers for some of the classic articles on turn-mill multitasking. This is a broad showing of turn-mill technology in the form of machines, processes, programming and applications.

CAM Capitalizes on 64-Bit Computing Power
PowerMILL 2010 CAM software is designed to boost productivity capitalizing on the latest background-processing and multi-threading computer technologies.

Version Offers Fast Programming
FeatureCAM’s high degree of automation already offers fast programming, but a range of enhancements in the 2010 version will make the software even quicker. Most important of these developments is support for multi-threading when generating 3D tool paths.

CAM With Increased Support For Mill-Turn
FeatureCAM 2009 has increased support for mill-turn equipment, focusing on support for the more complex machines, those featuring multiple turrets and/or multiple spindles. Additional post-processors for these types of machines have also been introduced. Work has continued on extending the range of five-axis optio

Enhancements To Multi-Spindle Synchronized Turning
FeatureCAM Version 2006 includes enhancements such as full machine simulation, multi-turret/multi-spindle synchronized turning and support for motion controllers from 3Dconnecxion. An additional enhancement is networked databases, which allow customers to share tooling and feeds and speeds databases between networked computers. The company's products come standard with thousands of defined tools.

Synchronized Turning For Four-Axis Operations
Engineering Geometry Systems announces the addition of synchronized turning for production machining. The new four-axis functionality is integrated into FeatureCAM’s existing turning programs.   Combined with FeatureCAM’s new machine simulation, synchronized turning provides production machinists full program control and cycle-time reduction.

Machine Simulation Detects Collisions
Machine Simulation allows users to view machine movements and detect any possible collisions, giving them a clean operation without having to stop production for dry runs. With FeatureCAM, if a collision is detected, the simulation pauses and a dialog box appears with information on the specific components involved.   Simulations can illustrate machines anywhere from basic two-axis mills to complex five-axis tilting head machines.
