Haas manufactures a complete line of CNC vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, CNC lathes and rotary products. The company also builds a variety of specialty machines, including 5-axis machining centers, mold making machining centers, toolroom machines and gantry routers. Haas products are distributed through a worldwide network of Haas Factory Outlets (HFOs) that provide immediate local service and support to expedite repairs when necessary, and keep customers’ machines operating at their optimum level. Each HFO has complete showroom facilities, factory trained service personal, extensive spare-parts inventories and fully stocked service vehicles. Since its inception, Haas Automation has used the most modern manufacturing processes to build the best machine tools at the best prices. This approach has yielded nearly constant growth over the years, and a continuous expansion of the product line. Innovative new machines are introduced on a regular basis, and existing product lines undergo constant improvement. The Haas manufacturing facility currently exceeds 1-million square feet, with a production capacity of more than 1,100 machines per month. To meet the growing worldwide demand for Haas products, production levels will continue to increase, with a goal of building 1,200 to 1,300 machines per month by early 2007. Despite this rapid growth, Haas Automation will not compromise the quality of its products. Extensive use of the lean manufacturing methods and just-in-time production practices allows the company to produce high-precision CNC products while maintaining exacting quality and value-based pricing. At a time when many U.S. companies are moving offshore to reduce costs, Haas Automation continues to manufacture all of its products in-house at its facility in Oxnard, CA. This commitment to quality is what makes American-made Haas machine tools the best value in the industry.

The ST-20SSY high speed turning center features a Y axis, C axis and live tooling to provide a four-axis solution for “done in one” machining of turned parts. The company has redesigned its entire VF product line to incorporate a range of enhancements.
The Haas ST-30 turning center was designed from the ground up to be extremely rigid, highly accurate and thermally stable. All castings were optimized using finite element analysis to produce the most rigid designs, while improving chip and coolant flow, and simplifying maintenance and service, the company says.
A three-, four- or five-axis vertical machining cneter can run the gamut of capability and cost. Assessing your application requirements now and in the future can make for a much wiser machining cneter purchase.
Haas Automation Inc. offers a line of VMCs designed for the moldmaking, tool and die and medical industries. Called the VM Series, these VMCs provide the accuracy, rigidity and thermal stability required for high precision work, the company says.
Haas toolroom mills are available in three sizes. Travels are 30" x 12" x 16" for the TM-1, 40" x 16" x 16" for the TM-2 and 40" x 20" x 16" for the TM-3. For production work, fully enclosed versions of the TM-1 and TM-3 are available as the TM-1P and TM-3P.
Many shops today are looking to automation and automatic part loading as a means to reduce costs and increase throughput. The SL-20APL from Haas Automation Inc. is a compact lathe with an integrated automatic parts loader that automatically picks up parts from an external tray and loads them into the lathe for untended turning or flips parts automatically for double-ended machining.
The SL-20L and SL-30L long-bed lathes from Haas Automation, provide longer turning lengths without jumping up to a much larger, and more expensive, machine. These machines offer double (SL-20L) or almost double (SL-30L) the turning length of the standard machines, while maintaining the same maximum turning diameter
The Haas ST-30 turning center offers castings that are optimized using finite element analysis to produce the most rigid designs, while improving chip and coolant flow and simplifying maintenance and service. The spindle head features a 45-degree wedge design that increases the tool-mounting envelope and improves chip flow.
• Haas Automation Model Guide 2006-2007 includes a wall poster with photos of the company's VMCs, HMCs and turning centers, as well as its rotary tables and indexers, organized in an easy-to-read layout • Brief descriptions of each of the types of machines offered is included in the guide .

Getting there fast is often a sign of success. For this ski and boat enthusiast, it isn’t just the speed of the boat, but the growth of his shop that has heads, and parts, turning.
The Haas TM-3P toolroom mill is based on the Haas TM-3, but has many standard features that make it well suited for the production environment. It comes "out of box" with faster speeds, an automatic toolchanger and a full enclosure. The TM-3P's reliable 7.
The Haas Toolroom Lathe series offers versatility in turning diameters to 30" and lengths to 60". With a functional range from manual turning to full CNC, Haas Toolroom Lathes feature a proprietary conversational operating system that makes cutting parts and creating part programs nearly effortless. The operator chooses an operation, touches off the X and Z surfaces, and is then prompted to enter basic dimension information.
Designed specifically for mold makers, the Haas VM Series are high-performance machines featuring a generous work cubes and tables, and a 12,000-rpm spindle powered by a 30-hp vector dual drive system. These mills are equipped with a high-speed control with full look-ahead, and the 40-taper spindle uses a unique inline, direct-drive system that couples the motor directly to the spindle rather than using belts (which are a major source of heat). The result is less vibration, less heat and less noise - which means excellent surface finishes, extreme thermal stability and quiet operation.
The OL-1 office mill is small enough to fit through a 36" doorway and can be moved easily with a pallet jack or equipment dolly. The lathe from Haas Automation is equipped with a 5-hp (peak) spindle that spins to 6,000 rpm. The threaded 5C collet spindle features an automatic air-closer, and accepts a number of optional chucks.
The GT-20 lathe from Haas is designed to deliver high power and a high range of speeds in a small footprint production machine. The lathe takes up 8' × 4. 5' of floor space, yet offers an 11" × 12" maximum capacity, making it an especially useful "chucker" lathe for shops where space is at a premium.
Regarded by Haas Automation, Inc. as its most compact 50-taper machine to date, the VF-3YT/50 features a 40" × 26" × 25" work envelope and a 54" × 25" table, an increase of 6" compared to the VF-3. The extended Y-axis travel is achieved through a larger base casting, yet the machine retains a footprint only slightly larger than the standard VF-3.
