Surface Roughness Tester
Surftest SV-800 CNC surface roughness measuring machines are SV-800 is engineered around a column-moving mechanism that virtually eliminates load capacity limitations.   The machine’s large measuring envelope (800 mm X 500 mm X 200 mm) and long-stroke probe arm are designed to accommodate sizable, heavy workpieces such as crankshafts and camshafts as well as other powertrain, engine and similar components.   The long reach of the probe arm also enables the machine to measure multiple cross sections and waviness.

CNC Roundness Testers
Mitutoyo America Corp. introduces CNC versions of its RA-2000 and RAH-5000 roundness testers that increase their productivity through the automation of much of their roundness testing activity. The CNC control is designed to eliminate much of the manual positioning and setup work, improving the measuring throughput of these machines.

Non-Contacting CMM Probe
The Metris LC50/100 high speed, digitizing non-contacting probe is now available. It features a standard PH-10M/PH-10Q interface to replace conventional mechanical touch probes and enable high speed, non-contacting scanning to 19,200 points per second, the company says. Adjustable camera and laser intensity settings are said to generate quality data acquisition from different surfaces and environments.

Microscope-Based Measuring System
Quick Scope, a microscope-based measuring system, is available in two configurations: the manual QS-E (economy) system and the CNC/manual (motor-driven) QS system. With their compact footprint design, each offers improvements in accuracy and throughput as compared to conventional microscope-based measuring when performing complex measurements for prototyping or lower volume batch work, the company says. Used for observation/measurement of single workpieces, the QS-E has a 6" (150 mm) Z-axis range and variable magnification (adjusted by changing objectives).
