Mycrona of North America

 Mycrona brand assimilated into Hexagon Metrology 

In 2007, Hexagon Metrology, Inc. (North Kingstown, RI) and Mycrona of North America, Inc. (Elgin, IL), a division of Mycrona GmbH, announced an exclusive distribution agreement for North America.  In 2010 Hexagon acquired all outstanding assets and intellectual property of Mycrona GmbH.  Many of the products will continue to be carried under the Hexagon Metrology, Brown & Sharpe, and Optiv brands and badge names.

Due to a passion for quality and reliability, the Mycrona brand became synonymous with state-of-the-art, 3D multi-sensor coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). Innovative technology and excellent service combine in a complete range of machines for the vision industry including:

• Red Line for cost effective CMM applications.  The Red Line includes Primus, Signum, and Magnus models.
• Blue Line for shop floor applications.  The Blue Line includes Primus, Signum, and Magnus models.
• Silver Line for superior accuracy at the tightest manufacturing tolerances.  The Silver Line includes Signum and Altera models.

Each product offering is available with camera, laser or white light scanning sensors as well as contact probe systems. In addition, Mycrona models include Hexagon Metrology’s CAD based PC-DMIS Vision Software.
