One Name… One Guarantee.
Autoblok Corporation was established in 1981 as a subsidiary of Autoblok of Italy, the largest power chuck manufacturer in Europe. Since 1942, Autoblok has been at the forefront of engineering and manufacturing state-of-the-art workholding and clamping solutions. The global corporate organization is dedicated to QUALITY, PRICE, TECHNICAL SUPPORT and CUSTOMER SERVICE. The complete line of power chucks is manufactured to the most demanding standards in the world, yet priced competitively to those products of lesser performance. Autoblok has achieved sustained global growth by providing a superior level of customer service and technical support for our application driven product line. In 1993, Autoblok acquired SMW of Germany. The combination of these two premier manufacturing entities resulted in the most extensive product line of high quality workholding devices in the world. Now available exclusively through its subsidiaries, reps and distributors, SMW AUTOBLOK customers are ensured a consistent, single source of superior product performance, support and service. The acquisition of SMW of Germany dramatically increased the diversity of the Autoblok product line. Major additions were made to the line of standard power chucks in sizes 3" to 63", 2, 3 and 4 jaws such as:

Six-Jaw Chuck Clamps Without Distorting Parts
The TE Six-Jaw Chucks are active pull-down chucks designed to securely clamp parts without deformation.

Live Tooling for Lathes
SMW Autoblok’s spindle speed increasing live tools for Haas lathes are low-profile live tools that feature a 1-to-3 speed increasing ratio and a maximum speed of 12,000 rpm.
Live Tools Feature Square Drives
SMW Autoblok’s live tools feature gears with a square drive for uniform torque, minimized backlash and reduced tool noise. The special sealed, precision, dual-spindle bearings allow for even flow of grease between bearings, resulting in reduced heat and extended bearing life. Additionally, all live tools are comple
Expanding Mandrels
SMW Autoblok's EM series mandrels deliver consistent ID clamping on variety of turning operations. The series is especially designed for applications where the workholding must be rigid enough to hold the part accurately against the cutting forces applied and accurate enough to produce quality parts, according to the company. These mandrels are designed to reduce scrap and rejected work as well as for automatic part loading with the small amount of sleeve expansion (compared to the jaw movement on the chuck), faster loading and unloading times and for reducing clamping time.
Sealed Chucks Reduce Maintenance
The AP and NT Series lathe chucks feature sealed bodies. With all internal components sealed and operating in a grease bath, clamping force is constant, unlike chucks requiring regular lubrication. The result is reduced maintenance, less scrap and higher productivity, according to the company.
Live Tooling Increases Productivity
SMW Autoblok's line of live tooling provides users of multi-axis CNC lathes flexibility and precision. The live tooling will be available in both standard designs and custom designed heads to match most machine tool builders' turret designs.
Manufactured in the billet style from a single block of steel as opposed to a casting, this live tooling maintains the closest tolerances, according to the company.
