ScandMist, a Swedish-designed industrial air cleaner from SPX air filtration, distributed in Europe for the past 10 years, is now manufactured in the United States for use in North American machine shops and other metalworking businesses. Exceeding international health and safety standards, including OSHA/NIOSH guidelines, ScandMist uses a three-stage filtration system to separate oil fumes, oil mist and emulsion mist, even under extreme operating conditions and during continuous operation, the company says. Air from one or more connected machine tools first passes through the cleaner's two high-efficiency, deep-pleated filter beds, which remove oil mist.
