Tsugami Swiss-style automatics, turning machines and machining centers, imported exclusively in North America by REM Sales,LLC, are known worldwide for their superior design and construction. Tsugami has worked tirelessly to develop machines with excellent accuracy, speed and rigidity to meet the needs of metalworkers in the United States. Rem Sales is committed to working with our customers to develop the manufacturing processes that help them utilize the full capabilities of their machines, produce parts more efficiently, and reduce their manufacturing costs. Our applications engineers are respected for their skills in bringing complex prints to parts with innovative turnkey solutions.

Tsugami offers the S206 20mm CNC precision automatic lathe with backworking Y axis.
Paying attention to small differences in cutting tool technology makes an impact at this New England Swiss shop.
These two Swiss machines are designed to offer flexibility at a good price.
The two new 20-mm Swiss turns, the Tsugami S205 and Tsugami S206, were designed to provide Swiss technology users the flexibility and capability to meet a range of needs, according to the company.
Makino in MexicoMakino has opened an international technology center located in Querétaro, Mexico.
Tsugami Precision Swiss CNC machine tools now offer 20-mm models—the S205 and S206. These machines were designed to provide Swiss technology users with the flexibility and capability to meet a range of needs.
Applying continuous improvement is how this Swiss shop keeps ahead of the crowd.
Tsugami Corporation introduced a new fixed headstock "chucker" configuration of the SS32 Super Swiss Turn. The SS32L is capable of producing complex parts complete from ground or cold rolled barstock.
Tsugami-Rem Sales LLC is the exclusive North American importer of Tsugami equipment, including Swiss-type automatic and gang-tooled lathes, bar-fed multifunction machines and machining centers.
The SS20 Swiss-turn allows manufacturers to easily switch driven tool positions, as well as turning and ID tool positions. The standard main spindle configuration includes nine turning, five cross rotary and five static ID tool positions. The subspindle configuration allows for as many as eight static ID tools, three driven faceworking tools and two cross rotary tools.
The SS32 model of Swiss-type lathes from Tsugami has a modular tooling arrangement that is flexible, and it has driven tools on both the main spindle and subspindles to machine complex components in one setup. The machine's standard main spindle configuration includes seven turning tools, five cross rotary tools and five ID tools.
The BH20SY from Tsugami features a sliding headstock with gang tools, a 12-station turret with stationary or rotating tools, plus a back spindle. All three "paths" can work on parts simultaneously, reducing cycle times, and offer the capability to completely machine complex parts up to 20-mm diameter in a single setup. Adding to the machine's productivity, spindle speeds as much as 12,000 min are possible on both he main and back spindles.
Who says we can’t be competitive on simple parts? The secret for making it happen at one Connecticut shop is the combination of modern CNC Swiss-type machines and good old-fashioned “stick” tooling.
On a recent trip to Tsugami in Japan, I interviewed Mr. Takao Nishijima, chairman of the board and CEO. Following are some of his insights about the future of world and U.S. precision parts manufacturing and how Tsugami plans to use the trends of the industry to fuel its growth.
Created specifically to machine micro parts, the P01 precision automatic lathe by Tsugami features a maximum bar capacity of 3 millimeters. With 1. 57" of stroke and 50,000 rpm cross rotary tools, the P01 is fully capable of handling the most demanding requirements, according to the company.
An example of a perfect match, from one of the first customers Tier One landed, was a contract for 10,000 gearbox housings used in a stomach-suturing instrument. The process plan called for one operation on a CNC Swiss-type turning center and two additional operations on a CNC mill.
Many builders of Swiss-type moving headstock machines have introduced models that do not require the use of a guide bushing to support the workpiece.
A combination turret/gang machine,t eh BH38SY combines all of the benefits of a traditional Swiss turn with the flexibility and capability of a turret machine. It has a 38-mm (1 1/2") main spindle capacity and a two-axis subspindle. The machine's 15-hp main spindle has been constructed with Tsugami's double-spindle design, allowing for maximum metal removal while maintaining the most exacting tolerances.
Tsugami BE series Swiss-turns (12-mm and 18-mm models) are small-part machines capable of simultaneous operation of the main and subspindle. Featuring 12. 000 and 10,000 rpm main spindles respectively, both machines have the company's gang slide design for the shortest possible chip-to-chip time.
