Tooling Options for Turning Machines
The company offers cost-reducing tooling options for turning machines (single-spindle, multi-spindle and CNC), including the SAW-lutions systems, which employ circular saws, that can be used for cutting off, grooving and forming.

Watkins Manufacturing Inc.
Watkins Manufacturing has been doing business in the Cincinnati area since the late 1800s. The company manufactured a variety of products during its long history as a job shop. In the 1960s, Watkins developed a unique cutoff process for internal use.

Rotary Sawing Takes A Turn In Cutoff Operations
Although Rotary Saw Cutting (RSC) has been used in cutoff operations since the 1940s, the process is still relatively unknown. However, Watkins Manufacturing Inc. (Cincinnati, Ohio) is looking to enlighten more shops by showing them the benefits of their RSC systems known as SAW-lution Systems.

Saw Blades For Rotary Saw Cutting
The Saw-lution Systems and saw blades can be mounted onto the slides of screw machines or similar turning machines to replace tooling used for cutting off, grooving or forming.  On CNC turning machines with live tooling, only an arbor and a saw blade are needed for rotary saw cutting.  The benefits of RSC are more pieces per bar and per hour, reduced or no secondary operations, better quality parts (little or no nib, less burr, more square and flat), and increased capabilities (ability to cut thin-walled tubing, irregular shapes and exotic materials).
