This video shot by Boeing St. Louis shows a 4-flute, 2-inch-diameter high feed mill from Iscar machining aluminum at 0.080 axial depth of cut and 300 ipm for a metal removal rate of 48 cubic inches per minute. Boeing often recommends the use of high feed milling as part of a strategy for making efficient use of lower-rpm machining centers. For more, see the article under “Editor Picks” at right.
