This year’s conference delivers content that speaks to both the talent and technology sides of our operations. Keynote Speaker

Fredi Lajvardi is a nationally recognized STEM educator and subject of the critically acclaimed documentary, “Underwater Dreams,“ the major motion picture, “Spare Parts “, as well as the IMAX film,“Dream Big.“ For three decades, high school science teacher, Mr. Lajvardi, has  engaged, motivated and challenged students by making science fun and introducing them to the field of robotics. In 2004, Mr. Lajvardi and his team of underserved high school students drew attention from local and national media outlets when they defeated leading universities, including MIT, in a national underwater robotics competition. With an effective leadership philosophy, incredible story and a spirited passion for teaching, Mr. Lajvardi offers valuable and inspiring insight on fostering teamwork; sparking creativity and helping individuals realize and maximize their potential.

Panel Discussion On Best Practices

Every shop has at least one area where they have a “best practice.” Representatives from Sepco-Erie, Pioneer Services and AccuRounds will describe their areas of Best Practice. They will describe how much more continuous improvement they have to do and how they plan to get there. Get genuine continuous improvement understanding from “them that’s doing.“ Learn how best practices, from the insight of these industry leaders, can be an “everyday, every person, every opportunity to improve” habit that results in excellence.

PMPA Committees Share Expertise

The Reality of Zero Defects: Quality Committee. Every customer demands zero defects. How do we understand and improve our process capabilities so we can deliver?

Talent Development at the Crossroads: NextGen Committee.

This will be an interactive panel discussion sharing success stories of implementing training systems, engagement and employee retention from the perspective of the PMPA’s Next Generation of active members.

A Day in the Life at the Machine: IT Committee. This session will walk us through a day in our life at the machine, where we create value, exploring three areas for improvement: scheduling status, document controls and the identification and tracking of “All Things Time,“ highlighting unique and unexpected IT solutions to bring best practices to your operations.
