PMTS Has a New Home

Every other year, the Precision Machining Technology Show (PMTS) brings together leading suppliers and professionals in the precision machining industry. This year’s show, which will take place April 2-4, 2019, will feature the latest technology, including machines, tools, workholding, software, from more than 300 exhibitors. PMTS 2019 will also host live equipment demonstrations, Tech Talks and networking opportunities. But most significantly, PMTS 2019 will have a new location at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

Cleveland is known for many things, from its location on Lake Erie and music to its sports teams and growing food and drink scene. Many of these features have influenced and been influenced by its history as a manufacturing hub. Its setting on Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River made it the perfect place to manufacture steel and other goods, such as automobiles and aerospace parts, to be shipped around the country and world. In recent years, Cleveland has advanced its manufacturing industry. The region is still home to metal producers, as well as manufacturers in cutting-edge industries including aerospace, automotive and medical devices.

The city’s food also has been elevated. Visitors can dine at restaurants from acclaimed chefs such as Michael Symon and Jonathon Sawyer, who serve up all types of food from burgers and barbecue to upscale Italian and American classics. The city also has a thriving brewery scene, with more than 30 options including Great Lakes Brewing Company and Platform Beer Co.

Cleveland has many attractions and entertainment options, including the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland Metroparks, the Metroparks Zoo and Greater Cleveland Aquarium. Additionally, the city’s range of museums includes a children’s museum, a science center, art museums, a history center and a natural history museum. The city is also known for its sports—it is home to NBA’s Cavaliers, the NFL’s Browns and the MLB’s Indians, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame is located in nearby Canton, Ohio.

The city is also well-equipped to handle conventions. The Huntington Convention Center is digitally connected and includes all of the amenities trade show attendees need, such as ATMs, Wi-Fi, food and beverage options, and a shipping center. Its location in downtown Cleveland provides attendees with easy access to hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues.

This combination of location, resources, culture and industry makes Cleveland the perfect place to hold the 10th edition of PMTS. The new location gives even longtime attendees of the show something new to explore. The city has a variety of districts and neighborhoods that attendees can explore after the showfloor Happy Hours on Tuesday, April 2, and Wednesday, April 3.
