Lincoln College of Technology knows that there’s only so much students can learn in a classroom. That’s why it offers hands-on experience for its students, now by using Haas Automation equipment.
Lincoln Educational Services Corporation’s Grand Prairie, Texas, campus of Lincoln College of Technology will partner with Haas Automation to train students for CNC machining careers using Haas equipment.
According to the school, Lincoln will become one of the first proprietary school networks to launch a program offering training for CNC machining careers. The CNC machining and manufacturing technology program will train students in manufacturing fundamentals such as milling and machining with lathes, and advanced concepts including five-axis machining technology and simulated workplace processes.
Lincoln's Grand Prairie campus will be equipped with four TM-1P toolroom mills and four TL-1 toolroom lathes, a VF-2SS featuring a trunnion and five-axis mill, and an ST-10 featuring a live tooling lathe. This computer-based Haas machinery showcases the future of the American manufacturing industry, according to Lincoln CEO Shaun McAlmont.
The 152,000-square-foot Grand Prairie campus will offer certificate and diploma programs in CNC machining and manufacturing technology, in addition to its current programs in automotive, diesel and truck technology, collision repair and refinishing, and air conditioning, refrigeration and heating (HVAC) technology.
