CNC lathe Hurco is somewhat new to lathe technology compared to its work in CNC mills, having only introduced its TM series of slant-bed lathes in 2004, but did feature its line of CNC lathe products at the open house.

Hurco Companies Inc. celebrated 50 years with an open house on Tuesday, March 6. Held at its corporate headquarters in Indianapolis, it previewed new products and technology, hosted a seminar on five-axis machining, and gave plant tours.

Hurco is known for 40 years of development in mills and control technology, but the open house did feature the company’s CNC lathe line of products. These include the TMXMY/S series multi-axis mill-turn lathes, TMM series three-axis mill-turn lathes, TMX series performance lathes, TM series general purpose lathes and TM series heavy duty lathes.

Each  of the CNC turning centers are equipped with Hurco control powered by the WinMax software, introduced by the company in 2006. There are also several productivity options, including a magazine-fed automatic bar feeder and a bar feeder interface that allows third-party bar feeders to be controlled by Hurco lathes.

Hurco is somewhat new to lathe technology compared to its work in CNC mills, having only introduced its TM series of slant-bed lathes in 2004. As the open house demonstrates, however, the last almost decade and a half shows an expansion of the line that promises to continue.
