SW North America was showing its BA W02i two-spindle, five-axis horizontal machining center for high-precision applications. The system also had a FANUC robotic arm for automated part loading and unloading, as well as a pallet system to enable the machine to run unattended for long periods of time.

Emuge had a range of taps and drills on display. Many of the tools are specially designed to meet the challenges of specific materials, hole types, and thread sizes and depths, including this Rekord DF-NI tap for nickel alloys.

Wintriss Controls Group was showing the newest version of its ShopfloorConnect machine monitoring software. It’s designed to be a turnkey, “machine agnostic” program that collects data including run and cycle signals, setup and change-over, scrap rates and information from some automation systems.

In its booth, ANCA had an FX5 grinding machine. The machine on display included the company’s AR300 robot, which is designed to be a compact, affordable, plug-and-play automation system.

Vargus was featuring its TMDR tools. They can drill holes, mill threads and chamfer all in one operation, saving tool space.

In Methods Machine Tools’ booth, visitors saw a FANUC RoboDrill Plus K. The Plus K is a standard, “bolt-on” automation system that can increase tool capacity by 68 tools and hold 60 pallets for parts.

HighQA’s software can read PDFs of part files and automatically balloon geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) data. Without any initial setup, the software uses optical character recognition technology to read the data so shops can easily create inspection plans.

Ceratizit was showing the BluFlex precision boring system. These tools use Bluetooth to transmit data from the head to a range of devices.

Protolabs was showcasing several of the manufacturing services it offers for producing prototypes. This part was made using HP’s Multi Jet Fusion additive manufacturing process.
