UK’s Renishaw Participates in International Women in Engineering Day

Renishaw’s Lucy Ackland, senior development engineer, has been selected to join her U.K. peers as one of the top 50 engineers for 2017.
United Kingdom’s The Daily Telegraph in partnership with Women’s Engineering Society (WES) organized an initiative to recognize the role of women in the engineering field. The result in the U.K. identifies the Top 50 Women in Engineering in 2017.
The contest dovetails into an International Women in Engineering Day being held worldwide for the first time in 2017. The effort is designed to “draw attention to how important women are to engineering, career opportunities for women in engineering and to celebrate the accomplishments of women in engineering,” says Karen Horting, executive director and CEO of the Society of Women Engineers.
Renishaw’s Lucy Ackland, senior development engineer, has been selected to join her U.K. peers as one of the top 50 engineers for 2017. The results were announced on June 23 and coincide with the International initiative that recognizes the growing contributions of women in engineering fields. The 2017 list is made up of female engineers, under the age of 35, who have made significant contributions to the field.
