The Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) returns to IMTS for the fourth time with a network of solutions for understanding and adopting five key trends that are moving manufacturing forward. This year, it includes displays dedicated to additive manufacturing, automation, automotive 2025, data-driven manufacturing and machine shop optimization.

Visitors to Booth W-10 will have the opportunity to meet with and learn from fellow manufacturers who are successfully leveraging these advanced manufacturing concepts. Additionally, the AMC will include parts displays, live presentations, feature videos and specialized handouts all aimed at delivering practical, applications-based examinations of each technology.

Perhaps manufacturing’s most buzzworthy trend, the AMC’s Additive Manufacturing resource center will include a live presentation from GE Aviation’s Additive Technologies lead, Greg Morris and parts displays from Linear Mold & Engineering and RPM innovations.

Featuring the award-winning, collaborative Baxter robot, the Automation Resource Center will look at ways manufacturers are becoming more productive and more efficient through the use of robotics.

The Automotive 2025 resource center will introduce concepts for achieving lighter, stronger vehicles. General Motors will display a Chevy Silverado body-in-white that highlights advancements in lightweighting and material composition.

Abstract, but essential, the Data Driven Manufacturing resource center includes insights on ways contract shops such as ITAMCO and 5ME are integrating data, analytics, mobile devices and wearable technology to improve all aspects of production.

The AMC’s Machine Shop Optimization resource center will introduce this year’s Top Shops winners and examine characteristics that define best-in-class machining.

To celebrate these five technologies, our sister publication, Modern Machine Shop, is hosting the AMC Solutions Network Contest. While visiting the AMC (Booth W-10), attendees can enter to win a VIP day for two to any 2015 Verizon IndyCar race. In addition, all entrants may visit the AMC’s Solutions Networking Bar where they will also be able to pick up an “I Move Manufacturing” T-shirt.

IMTS attendees are manufacturing’s movers. While visiting the West Hall, be sure to stop by the Advanced Manufacturing Center (Booth W-10) to celebrate advanced manufacturing and learn more about the trends and technologies that are continuing to move manufacturing forward.
