Tornos Completes Its Certification Of PartMaker SwissCAM
Tornos SA (Moutier, Switzerland) has completed its certification of PartMaker SwissCAM by PartMaker Software/IMCS (Fort Washington, Pennsylvania) for the programming of the Tornos Deco CNC Swiss-type lathe.

The certification tests involved the programming and machining of several parts to ensure that the output from the PartMaker SwissCAM system was both accurate and robust in handling a range of capabilities of the Tornos Deco machine. Advanced features that were certified during these tests included thread whirling, cylindrical interpolation and the multiple recheck of long parts, among other items. Fastems, LLC (West Chester, Ohio) opened its new facility in Cincinnati, Ohio, in January. The new operation offers sales, project management and service for the machine tool industry throughout North America and will employ 12 automation specialists.
