The Connection between PM and PMPA

While paging through a typical issue of PM, it’s plain to see that the magazine has a relationship with the Precision Machined Products Association (PMPA). The association’s 6-page section that runs monthly in the magazine gives that fact away, as well as the PMPA logo on our cover.

While paging through a typical issue of PM, it’s plain to see that the magazine has a relationship with the Precision Machined Products Association (PMPA). The PMPA's 6-page section that runs monthly in the magazine gives that fact away, as well as the PMPA logo on our cover. The association we share allows PM to help promote the benefits of PMPA, and in turn, PMPA helps PM build strong relationships within the industry that contribute to article ideas and the knowledge needed to write these articles. Attending PMPA conference sessions also assists the PM staff in gaining a better understanding of hot topics in the industry.

PMPA, an international trade association with most members located in North America, has represented the precision machined products industry since 1933. It consists of industry experts who, with their PMPA membership, have access to a range of programs and services designed to help them meet challenges and focus on new business opportunities. Not only are there local and national events and networking opportunities hosted by PMPA and scheduled on a regular basis, but there are information resources such as email listserves, and online information via PMPA.org on environmental, safety, quality and regulatory issues. The association’s website also covers industry trends, contains a search engine for industry-related topics, and offers many other resources for networking and industry information.

The Precision Machining Technology Show (PMTS), held biennially, is another reason for the association between PM and PMPA. More than 150 exhibitors will be displaying their products at this year’s show in Columbus, Ohio, on April 21-23. PM is one of the show’s co-presenters. If you haven’t already, register online now and become a PMTS VIP.

A recent company profile about PMPA member Kalkaska Screw Products was published in the PMPA section of PM and is an example of the PMPA articles you will find in the magazine. Click here to read. Another article is “4 Ideas to Reduce Shipping Costs.”
