DMG MORI Partners with IN4.OS, Pickens CTC

DMG MORI's machines can now be found in the IPSUM Technologies Smart Factory of the Future, as well as the Pickens County Career and Technology Center.

DMG MORI is partnering with IN4.OS US, an organization focused on developing advanced manufacturing enterprises for strategic sectors, to construct Smart Factories of the Future. The partnership has executed the inauguration of IPSUM Technologies, the first Smart Factory of the Future and is effective immediately.

Smart Factory of the Future, an IN4.OS US concept, is a cyber-physical
system, location-agnostic factory that delivers flexible and
scalable manufacturing capabilities. IN4.OS US has launched IPSUM
Technologies as the initial Smart Factory of the Future. The factory will be located in Pickens County, South Carolina, and will focus on manufacturing for the aerospace and defense industries.

IPSUM will operate DMG MORI manufacturing equipment. It purchased nine machines from the manufacturer, including DMU 65FD DuoBlocks, DMU 65 MonoBlocks, DMU 75 MonoBlocks and a DMC 80FD DuoBlock.

IN4.OS US has also connected DMG MORI to Pickens County Career and Technology Center. The machine tool manufacturer has granted machine usage to the Liberty, South Carolina career center for educational support.

Pickens CTC has been providing students from four area high schools training in many areas, including manufacturing machine technology and mechatronics, for 42 years. The career center offers courses for aspiring CNC operators and engineers, among other career paths.

DMG MORI began providing assistance to Pickens CTC upon the
accommodation of a DMU 50 third generation five-axis machining center. This advanced, versatile machine will give students experience in machining a wide range of components and encourage the continuance of Pickens CTC’s educational efforts.
