Siemens Industry Inc.’s Sinumerik Operate user interface integrates HMI-Advanced, ShopMill and ShopTurn in a single end-user interface for machine tools. It contains functions that facilitate the setup and manufacture of complex workpieces, the company says.
The user interface is used for the Sinumerik 828D and Sinumerik 840D sl computerized numerical controls (CNC). According to the company, it enables sequence and high-level language programming via a single interface and has a layout with context-based functions and self-explanatory icons.
The user interface can zoom into angled levels individually while a simulation is running. When setting up a workpiece, the measurements are shown using animated elements for both switched and manual tool measurement features, the company says.
It also provides access to a tool and program management system. According to the company, the tool list makes data available in a structured manner and also offers a configurable display.
