SMW Autoblok has opened a design and manufacturing production unit in Petacciato, Italy, which is highlighted in a new 50-page Special Solutions catalog. The company designs and manufactures rotational chucks, stationary workholding, tooling and custom engineered solutions for the machine tool industry.

With over 30 years of extensive automation experience, including special equipment and machinery for clamping on machine tools, the SMW-Autoblok Petacciato team designs and manufactures intricate custom workholding solutions that are tailor-made to meet customers specific requirements.

The company says that a multisectoral and multitasking approach enables the development of complex and structured solutions characterized by tailoring accuracy due to its expertise in the field of both static and rotating clamping.

“Since the creation of the new unit, the company has experienced continuous growth,” says Gabriele Massimi, special applications manager of Autoblok Petacciato. He noted that the company had to overcome an initial challenge of educating customers to understand that Autoblok does more than standard products for rotating clamping on lathes. “We also deal with static clamping solutions and special solutions that are tailor-made based on the specific needs of the customer.”

According to the company, Autoblok Petacciato has a variety of strengths, including multitasking experience in mechanics — from part gripping to machining, assembly, servo and automation. It also brings its experience in static clamping to rotary and vice versa; and is able to integrate all the standard products of the group.
