30-Taper VMC For Medical Machining

The RoboDrill E vertical machining center offers the speed, accuracy and versatility needed to machine a range of medial parts. The 30-taper machine is especially good for machining medical devices and components such as tibial bearings, valve bodies and assemblies, probes, tubular and solid needles, knobs, sleeves, implants, dental tools and EMI shields from stainless steel, titanium, hardened tool steels or engineered plastics. The machine offers high-speed milling comparable to much larger machines, lightning-fast drilling and tapping and high-speed deburring.

The 30-taper machine is especially good for machining medical devices and components such as tibial bearings, valve bodies and assemblies, probes, tubular and solid needles, knobs, sleeves, implants, dental tools and EMI shields from stainless steel, titanium, hardened tool steels or engineered plastics.

The machine offers high-speed milling comparable to much larger machines, lightning-fast drilling and tapping and high-speed deburring. It is capable of tapping to 8,000 rpm, peek tapping for blind holes, high-speed deburring. It is capable of tapping to 8,000 rpm, peek tapping for blind holes, high-speed reverse tapping, feed rates to 2,362 ipm, rapid traverses to 2,125 ipm, accelerations to 1.5 G or more and 0.9 second tool changes (tool-to-tool). With precision-enhancing thermal compensation and HRV control, the machine boasts positioning accuracy of 0.0002" and repeatability of ± 0.000080".
